FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Pricing, usage limits, signing up, playing and sharing: the questions people ask most. The numbers on this page come straight from the settings in force today.

Pricing and usage limits

Is AI TRPG free?

Yes. The paid plans ended on September 16, 2026, and every feature is now free for everyone who signs up. There are no extra charges and nothing to buy. Instead, everyone shares the same usage limits (see the next questions).

Do I need a credit card?

No. Neither signing up nor playing uses any payment details. We do not process payments at all at the moment.

What are the usage limits?

The main limits per person are below. They are the same for everyone.

  • Game master replies (AI text): 120 an hour and 300 a day. A turn uses about one
  • Scene pictures: 30 an hour and 60 a day
  • Character (NPC) portraits: up to 10 per play
  • Storage: 20 save slots, 200 scenarios of your own and 200 adventure records

What happens when I reach a limit, and when does it reset?

Only the kind of AI generation that reached its limit pauses for a while. The hourly limits count the last 60 minutes, so they free up gradually. The daily limits reset at midnight Japan time (15:00 UTC). Reaching a storage limit never deletes or locks what you already have; delete something old and you can save again. If the whole service reaches its daily AI budget, AI generation may also pause for everyone until midnight Japan time.

Signing up and your account

Do I need an account to play?

Scenario listings and pages, replays and the guide are open to everyone. Playing, making a character, writing a scenario or posting a review needs a free account and signing in. You can sign up with an email address, or with a Google or X account.

Do I need to verify my email address?

Only if you signed up with an email address and password. Before anything that uses AI, such as playing or generating a character picture, open the link in the verification email (a verification screen appears before character creation). Accounts made with Google or X count as verified, so there is no extra step.

What happens to what I type? Can I delete my account?

To write the game master's replies and draw pictures, your actions, your character's details and similar game data are sent to outside AI services such as Google (Gemini API). Your email address is never shown publicly. You can delete your account from the settings page at any time, which removes your characters, saves, adventure records and more (a few things stay, such as scenarios you wrote, which are kept private without your name). See the privacy policy for the details.

Playing

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. It runs in the browser, so you can play on a phone, a tablet or a computer without installing an app.

How long does a session take?

Before you start, you choose a length: Quick (about 15 minutes), Relaxed (about 30 minutes) or Epic (about 60 minutes). The game master paces the story to fit.

Can I stop and continue later?

Yes. While you are signed in, the game saves itself after every turn, so you can pick it up again from My Page. You can also save by hand from the menu (up to 20 slots). A finished adventure is kept automatically as an adventure record and does not take a save slot.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Two to four players join one room and play the same scenario, with an AI game master running it. Invite friends with a room code or link, or join an open room. Nobody can join once the game has started. Each game master reply counts against every player's limit. Start from the room list.

Sharing and getting in touch

Can I show other people the story I played?

Yes. A finished adventure is kept automatically as an adventure record, private at first. You can share it as private, anyone with the link, or public; the last two can be read without signing in. Public records appear in community replays, while link-only ones stay out of the list and out of search results. You also choose whether to show your name as the author and whether to show the dice rolls. Issuing a new link stops the old URL from working.

Where do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Use the bugs and requests page. Reports are published anonymously as "Nameless Adventurer", and you can follow their status (received, investigating, resolved). Posting and voting need you to sign in. For anything you would rather not make public, such as an account question, use the private contact form (no sign-in needed).

Try a scenario

Signing up is free, and no credit card is needed.
